Garland Crimestoppers 21st Annual "Taste of Garland"

Garland Crimestoppers will host its 21st Annual "Taste of Garland" from 7 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, at the Garland Independent School District's Special Event Center, which is located at 4999 Naaman Forest Blvd. Area restaurants provide a variety of food for the all-you-can-eat event, which also includes an auction of items and services donated by local businesses (including sports memorabilia). Tickets, which are $20 each in advance and $25 at the door, can be purchased by calling Angela McKee at 214-402-6493. You can purchase 10 tickets and have a table reserved in your or your company's name. Garland Crimestoppers is a non-profit, all volunteer (local residents and business people) organization that pays cash rewards for information leading to the arrest and indictment of criminals for offenses ranging from theft to capital murder. Since starting in 1983, Crimestopprs has paid out more than $122,000 in rewards for annonymous TIPS, resulting in 802 arrests and in recovery of more than $2.4 million in stolen property.
